Blank screen and freeview channels only

Help please getting desperate now.
I've loaded the image v1.1 and scanned bruteforce uk. All channels seemed to be listed but only the freeviews working.
Have I missed something?

have you enabled the emu mate. need this running for it to decrypt the channels.. go to sky sports 1 and hold in the info button and it should say cam i think. make sure it shows evocamd click okay and wait a few seconds picture should eventually show

only get EPG Style menu with options Channel EPG, Multi EPG and EPG Search.
No cam option.
Sorry new to all this but what is emu?

by the way i have a 500c box and have also copied the files into the keys and scce folders as mentioned on this site somewhere.

if you are using the dk v1.1 image mate you just hold in the info button and the cam menu apears. but do it on a encrypted channel. e.g sky sports 1. it should apeer. there should be a emu there but if its not you could always go into yer boxes addon menu and download one. im sure that image usually uses evocamd someone correct me if im wrong but let me know how you get on mate.

There was no emu on the v1.1 image so I tried the v1 image. This has evocamd 2.12, I have tried restarting this as mentioned in mention in other posts.
I have also tried to load evocamd 2.17 but I didn't really understand how to do this ( if anyone can advice on this).
Should I have a cardserver setup?
Getting desperate can anyone advice?

if you have evocamd on the box now load the key files onto the box mate and go to the encrypted channel hold info and wait a few seconds. heres the key files i use mate. hope it helps

ps forgot to mention .. make sure the evocamd file in var/bin/emu permissions are set to 755

Thx mate, I have copied all these files but still the same.
Do I need to change the permission on all files in the keys folder?

Can anyone advice if I need to boost my signal or use an attenuator, as I am receiving the free channels?

Any suggestions appreciated.

i think its just the emu folder you change the permission on. not entirely sure when i first put the keys on mine it played up but i just fiddled with the cam menu.. im using the dw 2.0 image the now mate because it sorts channels in vm order for you but i used to use the dk 1.1 image. so just trying to remember from my head.

THx for all the help, got it working.
Reloaded dk v1.1 and copied files into keys and scce folders.
I'm sure I did the same before but hey as long as it works.

I now need to sort of the menus and hide the adult channels if that is possible. Any help appreciated.

I've had a similar problem for a few days and today spent 5 hours 'tinkering'. I flashed DK1.1 (null modem cable is ?10 at Maplins, now available to rent to anyone for a very reasonable fee!),got the new roms, put the new keys in etc and still no Sly channels. I found that switching to BBC1 brought up the EPGs faster on the channels but still no pictures. After messing with the wires on the back of the DM500 I started to get pixeled and frozen channels. Thinking that there maybe a weak signal I took the end off the signal cable and remade it making sure there was plenty of earth sheath touching the plug. I now have all channels again. I admit I made up the coaxial extension cable originally and this can't be done with the crimped cables supplied and I don't know if it was this that fixed it, but it may help someone who is at a complete loss as I was.
