Please Help Silver Digivox

I'm trying to get my sisters silver Digivox up and running again and have tried this :

1. Insert CD
2. Save all files into a folder or onto your desktop. Drag and drop
3. Remove CD
4. Turn off PC.
5. Connect PC to Digivox via the serial port using an RS232 cable.
6. Turn on Digivox & then turn on PC.
7. Open loader software “DOWNLOADER 10”
8. Check settings and parameters. Defaults are usually correct.
9. Browse for bin file (digivox_z20070101_v2500_api) and select.
10. Check “app file” (default).
11. Click “download”

But when I click Download I get the message

" Fail to update Flash! "

I think I've done everything right but now I'm stumped
Any help appreciated

P.S. What CD are they on about ?

that is an old file you have posted,v4300 is the latest.when u download the bin files it may look like 3 wrapped books which is a compressed file,you will need to extract it first before you load it to downloader.the null modem cable have u used it before if yes then cable ok.if you are in irl on n*l sorry no fix for that box.

I downloaded a Loader and file combo from Downloads
The file is version v4300 and extracted them from the rar file

I just want to figure out how to update the box regardless If It works or not for future reference and fixes

I'm using Vista and a RS232 to USB cable ( no RS232 port on PC )
I checked everything but after clicking Download the Downloading bar appears and just says " Fail to update Flash! "

Any ideas, suggestion or words of wisdom appreciated

everybody has problems with vista and usb adaptors,have u loaded the drivers for the usb adaptor? one other thing is do u have a null modem cable with cross over wire for flashing,there is another identical cable wired straight does not work.if u knew someone with xp and pc with com port much quicker.

hi did my own box a few weeks ago and couldnt do it with vista, i have an old laptop that uses xp and had no problems all i had to do was set the port to serial port one in the settings and it was fine try this link if ya get stuck
