    Kryptview or sv4 for Dublin?

I am wondering what is the best long term investment an sv4 or a kryptview? Never even seen a Kryptview before but i have heard good things about it!

        forget about nagra 3

its not coming to ireland for another 2 years .. i would say the kryptview and the starview will be on all this year and most of next..

they dont even have broadband down most of there lines in ireland

so that means they have to replace a lot of cables to even start thinking about it.

they were trying it out and they were causing problems with there own boxes ..

          get the starview

unless u know how to flash boxes using a xp and the right leads

          dont touch the kryptview

          the starview is much easier
you use a usb stick /pen so u can flash anywhere

and the kryptview can be a bit of hard work sometimes to flash

just remember with the starview dont touch the box while flashing or you can brick it thats all ..

          over and out

Thanks, I have an sv4. Updated it the other day. Plan on buying more (the reason for this thread). It is unbelievebly easy to update. No gt-rom loader crap that came with the older sv. So I can just go from house to house with my penstick and update my friends and familys sv4's who don't have a clue.

Hmm, they have already begun Replacing the N2 cards in UPC pure cable areas with N3 ones.

Once thats done, the N3 will be upon us.

Has nothing to do with BB cables ect.

I don't know where you are getting two years from, when other people seem to think that it could very easily be september.

The answer is nobody knows for sure, and anyone that buys a box now is taking a gamble.

I have a Kryptview and never had any problems, though I agree flashing it can be an arse.

The usb flash would be perfect.

remember how long it was to get both boxes working, krypt 1 day sv4 over 3 months, and the fix needed a fix for irl, backup and support is crucial.

there is no guarantee that N3 will ever be hacked, its has been on satellite for about a year and a half or more and still not hacked, and satellite has the worlds best hackers so it might never be hacked for cable.

bottom line is when it goes to N3 chances are every box will be a door stop, but i'd still go for a linux based over any others

                            one word K R Y P T V I E W

starview seems to be getting worse

yes its easyer to flash but the starview 4 record feature is crap

                            and the scanning is poor

u need to do a manual scan withing a frequency to get all the channels

get the kryptview do a network scan select ur area and scan when u switch it off onto standby it will update ur channel list

once they release there prv version it will be all over

its the only box they all the websites run out off

and lastly the starview 4 has been cloned very very badly
