If the EX5000 is genuine I would wait for a little bit longer as there may be something in the pipeline for that box in Ireland. Thats all I can give for now as I am waiting on confirmation.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

The 5000 is a decent enough plug and play box. If you would like to upgrade I would recommend an open sourced box with PVR facilities or mount your own drive on non PVR. DM600c, Itgate, etc are examples of some linux based PVRs. There are many more.
For plug and play in Ireland as an alternate to the Eurovox there is the Starview 4 USB, it is currently working in Ireland but took quite a while for a firmware fix.
There may be other alternates coming to market soon.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

Welcome to the forum the Max V will work on the Ch0r&s network and Ntl MMDS in Ireland as they still simulcast on the N1, 2 and 3 streams. It will not work on Ntl cable in Ireland which sounds like you are on? There is no fix for that particular box on that set up in Irealnd.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

Thanks for the quick response. I got my hopes up when I heard of the fix for the D-box. I'm OK at the moment , working away on Ch*****s, but my daughter is on N8L and has lost most of the channels.
Do you think they'll bother with a fix at this stage or wait for Naga 3 ?Comment

tks, will hold on a bit longer so...hope it will be worth it.........
Cannot blame you given the time it has already taken.
