Chorus mmds channels missing- nag2- dvb-t to dvb-c???

    Hi,

What is the latest regarind Chorus mmds? some people are saying that they are missing channels....is it true that some areas are switching from dvb-t to dvb-c.......has this already started to roll out and is this why some people are complaining of missing channels?.......or are they updating to nag 2....wouldnt they have to modify legitamate sub boxes first b4 they do any of that........has anyone with a legit sub mmds box been made aware of any changes?......anyone with any info would be great if you could let me know.......i am thinking of purchasing another mmds box...

for missing channels have u factory reset 0000 to delete, switch on antenna and scan and emu to on,other people have got their channels back doing this.
some areas have changed to dvb/c where possible.

hypercam with the irish fix will clear it though
      as for the orther channels
chorus been moving transponder frec on cable
may be the same on mmds
      try a rescan

        mmds

        Hi,

From an Irish perspective, I'm aware that chorus / NTL / UPC have gone into some areas and replaced all set top boxes. Admittedly they appear to be boxes they took out of dublin, re flashed and stuck new stickers on. These upgrades were signalled clearly in advance by letter, and were compulsory, customers were advised that they would loose their service if they did not comply.

They would need to swap the boxes, as if they changed you to DVB-C you would need a STB with a DVB-C Tuner rather than DVB-T.

Chorus MMDS was DVB-T and NTL MMDS was DVB-C.

Not sure if there switching peeps to NTL MMDS or if Chorus are now going DVB-C too.

They are switching subscribers in overlapping areas to ex n*l mmds.
If you got the subscriber box replaced with a dvb-c box and the aerial was realigned/exchanged you get no ex chorus mmds anymore.

                Problem Solved

Guys as per post above, i got a sv (not 4) the org one that stopped working in Dublin , all up annd running in Kildare now.

As stated earlier got 86 on an auto scan , im now at 120 approx by doing a manual scan.

So anyone who has been moved from Chorus mmds to cable just get a DVB C box and do the same.

Ive more stations now than ever !!!!

Id advise getting a DVB-C box that has a N2 fix cause very shortly they will be turning of N1 on various channels.

UPC switched you to ch*rus true cable and you should have got a new cable from the street into your house.

Hi Guys, I might be in the wrong post, so please excuse me.

Am in Newbridge, Co. Kildare and my question is how can I tell what kind of Chorus am I on?

Am in a block of flats, with Chorus coming through, can't see the top of the roof, so not sure if there is an aerial .....Fitted to my Nokia Dbox2 to the cable connection and am getting only 74 channels. Question is, is it true that you only get few channels if your on MMDS than cable?

Or can you get the same number with every1 else? And if am on MMDS and scanning under Chorus Ireland, with a Commando 11 image. What can I be doing wrong?

Any fix that rectify the few channels? With just 61 Transponders under scan using Brute Force.

If you get the channels from a scan via chorus cable you are on chorus true cable. A dbox cannot handle chorus mmds. If you get only 71 channels the transponder list for the scan is not uptodate.

I would not advise buying any receiver at the moment ! N2 is only a ship passing in the night N3 is coming soon to a cable company near you this includes MMDS srevices from NTL & Chorus and other UPC companys ! buying a receiver now could be a door stop tomorrow.....

So how do update the Transponder List? Any help would be appreciated.

By the way am getting only 61 Transponders, hence the resulting 74 channels only.

Wise words mate that's why they are switching people to DVB-C cause everyone will be using N3 (as yet not cracked )
and have to have official sub on orders from Sly.
Everyone in NTL cable land in Eire are selling their nonworking boxes.
UK will be next but will take longer because of the number of older boxes in use there.
