i think the cable splitters are more or less the same but if you split the signal you might need a cable signal amplifier/booster,i use a konig signal amplifier, the signal might be ok when its split you will need to test, i have put a couple of links on so you can have a look -:
    (1) Search for virgin splitter kenable for HDMI Optical TOS Network Ethernet RJ45 Scart Audio Phono Jack USB Firewire 800 ADSL Cable Leads

HH if you have a splitter in the frequency range of 5-1000mhz is also fine as most lose -3db per port check to see if you have any attenuators on your line at the moment possibly at the rear of the box or the rear of a modem and remove as necessary as the splitter will do the job of the attenuator

Think there are atenuator thingys at the not super hub and the box aid something about it being too strong a signal

Well if you look at digicons post you will lose -3db per port added and in my house the attenuators were 6db so if you want to add another 4 ports you will need to use a 6 way splitter losing you -18db 3 times more than 1 attenuator so if you look further up the thread there is a link to a booster which you will probably need

i got one cable coming into the house which is connected to 5-2400mhz splitter, a cable going into router which seem fine, another cable going into q5 hd box which is glitching every 5 sec, signal quality drops from 100db to 10db and keeps fluctuating between the two.

how can i sort this signal issue???? any help people.

              ---
if i connect incoming cable directly into q5 hd receiver, quality is perfect.

Sounds like a weak tuner in the Q5 receiver which can only be cured by boosting the signal:

thanks, once this is connected how many boxes can i feed of this???????

the cable incoming into the house connects to the above and then the cable that connects to the router. what is that???

                  ------------

could i get virmin tivo tv installed and cancel within 7 days, excuse i could use is that i lost my job?

no doubt i would have to pay ?50 installation charge, in return i would still have bb and 3 feeds which tivo box would have left.

Leave the isolator in place and then connect a small piece of cable from the isolator to the booster and take the feeds from the booster with the use of a 5-1000mhz splitter

problem was the splitter. bougth a new 2 way splitter from local electronic shop RF potts - highly recommend this place, babington lane, derby. Always bust with customers.
