    TS media?

At the risk of sounding stupid, (but then no-one is born knowing anything), does TS media work on cable boxes?
I am looking at getting a KV850, having used the old 750 with success until its demise.

I have been using XBMC on my pc linked to TV, and it works well.

I am led to believe that certain boxes with "TS media" achieve the same thing.

I have basic cable feed and I know that I can get a KV up and running quite easily.
The question being is the wiser move towards Ts Media?

It does seem to be the flavour of the month right now, but if set-up requires a course in linux, then maybe not.

Anyone got any experience of it?

As Above TSmedia will work on any Linux E2 based receiver whether its a satellite only or cable only or Sat/Cable receiver, It will not work on any of the closed source KV 750 or 850

some of the more modern e2 boxes with swappable tuners may be able to run tsmedia.

        kv750 is bust=non supported

        you mean the 780

          Thanks to all,
I was looking at the Cloud I box 3, but it seems subs are involved.
Which is ok to a point, but you are relying on being able to renew them later, which can be a prob.
I had a skybox f5 for a while, but when I went to buy the next yrs sub...no response.
So all I have is one more freeview tuner on my hands.
I really dont want any more black bricks especially at ?125 a throw..hehehe.

You can get the icloud 3 without subs no problem mate - just buy from China. Set the box up as you wish and give yourself more choice.

Lombard noticed that about the amiko mini T2C as well the tuners are not the best. If you have any split feed they are not great even with an attenuator. Maybe the old yellow brick would be better with them.

Funny you should mention that, I am currently looking at one on Ali-express for ?70, from Hong Kong, with free shipping.
                Gotta be worth a go.

Can get a Dreambox 800c from China ?90 quid delivered by DHL and it works perfect on cable. Choice of sat and cable tuners.
Or buy either box and pay 14 dollars for a tuner.

Thanks for the info, I just ordered a tuner from the same supplier.
Wish I'd known about the Dreambox800c before, but I just relied on current attitudes on various forums.
I assumed the Dreambox had gone the same way as the old Kryptview.

I have my old satellite dish which still gets basic freeview, and I have a barebones installation from cable too.
I could be entering a world of pain here..but How Hard Can It Be?..lmao
