Cable is getting like Skybox so many questions
There's still enough on the forum and google to get a start and work most things out imho that's what I did.
Fully understand read a lot of topics I have a giga blue hd quad the instructions are all in German .
get there in the end it just keeps telling me nothing is connected to tuner but I receive bbc1 2 and itv on that tuner but if I do a manual scan no channels found.
will get it sorted eventually.

Have you added cable xml file? You're not on your own I thought I would flash Smirnoffs backup image and now ive No Ca Found so not sure what went wrong there. Back to the null modem cable for me.
DM 800 HD did the same with mine first day I got it bit of a pain to recover.
put cable.xml in ect\tubox is this the correct path not sure if its the correct cable.xml file for Manchester area or are they all the same. keep scanning and keep getting no channels long time since I have done cable thought it was going to be easy.

To find it on a Tivo box you press Home button > 'Help & Settings' > 'Systems Info' > 'Diagnostics' - the top line is your net id, scroll down for your frequency of the channel you are on.
V+Box > Press the home button > Go to settings > technical stuff > Your net id is the first item and scroll down for your frequency. but some channels
Qam is normally 256 but some channels on qam 64 at least in my area.
