I agree with the previous reply, in as much as, you get what you pay for.
Of course we all want the cheapest with the best quality, but reality rules.

I am awaiting delivery of Cloud Ibox3, then I learn that the DB800C is a better option...hehehe.

      What can ya do?

also cactikid has a good point...he's been around for ages and his advice has seen me right a few times.
        So read the posts thoroughly.

Fairly new boxes mate but sure folk will try and help if you can post up what it is you are after. There are a few channel lists floating about on the site and sure that Joe Pineapples posted up a link to the software and channel editor I just cant find the link!

The best advice I can give anyone is to use the search function and if you get stuck then ask questions but the more you read the more you learn.
We all have opinions but you can only learn from other peoples views and opinions then make your own mind up which is best for you and your budget.
At the same time no one is going to spoon feed you we all have done the leg work its up to you to do the same but only post if you get stuck.

The Q5 DVB HD are a closed source meaning you flash them with FW and no one can alter the FW only the manufacture. There are plenty of files and stuff flying around and a auto freq find ( when channels move around) type file is due to be released in the next few days.
As more buy the Q5 more and more are sharing their channel listings. You get what you pay for as simple as that. If you want more to play around with then the Miraclebox is definitely the best of the bunch at the right price. I have the Amiko t2 the Q5 and the Miraclebox mini premium combo HD so I give a better insight than most on the pro's and conns of the 3 main boxes out there at this moment in time.
How much do I know about setting up a box ?
Do you want just TV ?
How much do you want to spend ?
Do you want extra's like IPTV & Youtube ?
Do you want both Sat and Cable ?
For me , the Q5 DVB HD works a treat, abit easier to set up than the Amiko T2 and better than the Miraclebox purely on price as you can get 2 Q5's for the price of 1 Miraclebox.

                  Please no more
                  "which is the best box"
Dilemma I don't know which box"
                  "Should I buy a ......."
                  ETC.........

put your coin down and take your chance, there's only one true way to find out

the Q5 HD is the best option, just looks the same as openbox s10/s11 and much easier to set up.. thumbs up, pity u dont get the HD quality as Sat side but its much better then the SD quality.. plus depending on what area ur frm u need the channel list for ur area,

if boxes do what they say and work ok i have no problem ,its when they dont i will post against them anywhere.

I have read quite a bit and starview is one box I wont touch with a bargepole or any boxes associated with it.

Would you recommend a good combo box in similar price range to the Q5HD?

I have seen prices go well over what I can spend on both cable and combo boxes?

Q5HD is about 55 quid from China. You wont get much more than a cardboard box with a plug on the end if that's in your price bracket

I do appreciate the help, but Andy please dont mock me. If I had the money I would consider a KV, VU or dreambox. They are great due to huge amount of extras.

Do you have to buy these boxes be it cable or combo from China? What happens if it messes up? Cant you buy them from the UK for similar price?

Ive just bought a Dreambox 800c from China on Monday night it arrived today. I paid 86 quid and was delivered by dhl. For an E2 box I consider that good value compared to the Q5HD which will only let you watch tv and nothing else.
Apart from the Amiko which ive been told has a weak cable tuner you're struggling to find anything on the budget you have set aside.
I'm not mocking you but being brutally honest.
Where do you think these Chinese boxes come from? Do you honestly think if you bought a cheap box off fleebay you would get your money back in 6 months?

NO YOU ARE MOCKING but you are thick as ****. So the Q5HD only lets you watch tv...erm...isn't that what it's for?

Seems like we have another cactikid fanboy!

Why can't you understand that not everyone wants high end boxes?
