Will a Spliter do the Trick?

Hey guys, newbie here, i've got the f5s sat box and with all things going teets up with HD im thinking heading back to cable. I have a single cable broadband feed coming into my house and was wondering if all i will need is a splitter to send into whatever box i end up getting. All info greatly appreciated.

When the cable feed comes in it will be one cable if you have a router and box you fit a splitter and one goes to router and one to box. Although when cable provider fits this they sometimes fit attenuators to stop pixellating or blocking on the picture or internet cutting out. hth
