Cannot Telnet to Dreambox 500c

Hi,

anyone got any ideas on this.

I've been told i can connect to Dreambox 500c with null modem cable via telnet.

Every time I try this I get "Connecting to 192.168.X.XX...Could not open connection to the host , on port 23, connect failed".

I have Started the Telnet Service and turned the firewall off and still no luck.

for telenet you need to use a RJ45 cross over cable not a null modem cable mate

That's what I've been told, but I was talking to Chimeara today and he said it was possible to use a null modem cable.

Might just try and source a crossover cable, save me a lot of grief.

If you want to flash your dreambox with dreamup then you can use a null modem cable but if you want to telnet in then it is either a cross over cable as suggested above or connecting it to router
