A lot of these football Club channels would never have been bothered setting up a dedicated channels had it not been for setanta Sports, most clubs make a good deal of money from the broadcasters for showing Live games they are not interested in plowing that money back into a channel showing reruns of matches of yesteryears, it makes sence to have Man-United & Liverpool as they are probable the best know football team in the world along with the Real Madrid channel broadcast on most satellites across Europe..
If these channels were a source of revenue to the clubs then you would see more clubs taking up transponder space and broadcasting a dedicated club channel but as there is not much other than advertising to cover costs and no exclusive live premiership matches broadcast shown teams like Arsenal if not subsidised by a opperator like Setanta Sports have no interest !
It better not to have clubs broadcasting there own channels because if this was the case Clubs would organise between themselves Pay Per View Events to show live Matches to maximise revenue cutting out eventually rights holders covering Premiership football...
Eventually it will happen when its in the best interest for clubs to buy there own broadcasting rights hopefully not for a long time.
