best place to store picons/epg dm 800

hi whats the best place to store the picons and epg data to a hdd or a usb?

as the hdd is 750 gb but some say the picons slow the box down as it spins each time

whats best to do, im thinking picons to a usb and epg data to the hdd and then use the hdd for recordings

Picons and epg to usb if you have the option. This will allow the hdd to spin down when not in use both reducing the heat inside the box and probably extending the life of the hdd
