probably looking straight at it and not seeing it ,old boxes like starview/digivox/kryptview always had signal and quality levels reading when changing channels.

I know was wondering if there was one like sat finder on the vix and dm800 image would come in handy when you initially connect. when you have not scanned give you good gauge of how good your cables and splitters are. Just a thought as there are many plugins as far as I know for sat.

Yeah good idea that, I watched a good youtube vid with an expert giving the lowdown on splitters and signal strengths. At the end he hints that it's a case of trial and error with splitters unless you know what your signal strength is pumpin out from the box at the end of the street.

its harder with a sat signal as its fed through the dish but if the dish is setup with lnb setup ive always used the manual scan it starts at the incoming signal as is get your reading from that and move from there just same as cable boxes i never just take a channels word because im not up-to-date with the TP of each channel and the setup of signal that the channels should be on, cable turn on box eneter menu and go to manual scan i done mine with my box factory reset entered menu and manuaol scan from there the signal and quality are what you see being fed into your box and seems to be a better reading of signal as a starting point
