Cannot detect USB - Q5 PVR HD

    Hi all,

I have an issue where i cant get my Q5 to detect any USB i put in it. Tried 3 different one's formatted one to fat32 the other to NTFS no luck in any :S.

Bit baffled, any lights on the USB come on, just cant get anything on/off them from the box.

    Any ideas people?

The USB is empty - formatted to Fat32. I tried another formatted to NTFS no luck in either of them. Usually if i plug in a USB or Portable Hardrive i would be able to record on the devices, hence the PVR function of the box. But in this case the box does not pick up any of the USB devices - there is power going to them because any lights on the USB's do come on when i put them into the slot.

I think its a faulty box?...Unless anyone else has any other suggestions or have seen this happen before?

no idea on that box but boxes like vu usb and hard drives need to mounted first to be seen and used, does it need setting up?

            Few tips;-
            Use good quality usb sticks,
            Use smaller size one's,
Format to FAT32 using any USB format tools,
If possible use a SD card in a USB adapter, don't ask me why but it works for me,
I had a friend who had this problem so I said bring it round mine with the USB sticks you were using., the sticks weren't branded and off eBay. All 4 didn't work, so I tried my USB adapter with an SD Card in it and sure as hell it worked 1st time. I then tried my USB sticks and they all worked.

That Q5 box USB port seldom broken. You can try copy one music or a short video into USD storage, then enter Menu--File Browser, try to play it. If can't,maybe the USB port is faulty.
