    Autoboquet scan using openatv 4.1 found 0 serivces - #frustrated



    Hi was hoping for some suggestions. I have purchased my sister a sunray dvb-c for crimbo and I spent all evening setting it up - I had it working great and even pre installed cross epg for her - cos im that kind of guy. She lives down south in Salisbury so it got deleiverd earlier this week and I have been trying to help her set up with skype video call.
    Anwyay for the past 2 nights I have spent hours online searching for solution to the prob. She has a BB subscription only and coming into the house is a single feed connected to a single filter. I have sent her a 2 way splitter which she has connected to router and sunray box but no services are scanned. Does anybody have any ideas?

      I have treid scanning Salisbury/southampton/london no joy. Im thinking the 2way splitter I sent is a bit outdated and maybe it could be a fault with the splitter. But she has ran the current cable going into the router straight into the box - then scanned once more but 0 services. aarrrrggghhh!
      Is it worth me talknig her through flashing again with different image?

          open atv 4.2 now comes with auto bouquets maker once updated, it gives you better options for cable in my opinion even if you scan for a different area you normally get some channels in my experience. if she has connected the box directly to the box I would not suspect the splitter unless you got it directly from maplin as they do two types of splitter one for sat and one for cable which are not interchangeable.

          I would install the 4.2 version and update and go from there if I was you.

              thanks woodward I will give a different version a try. I didnt check the splitter I just grabbed out of my box where i keep all the old cable stuff, but your right it could be a sky splitter. Will let you know the outcome this evening.

                  could a change of image solve the issue?
                  I know it is defo not the tuner as I have had the box up and running in my house.
                  If you have a virmin bb subscription I always thought that you would be able to scan for channels and you would get a tv signal.

                      if you have had it working at your house all you should need to do is change your net id and re-scan with auto bouquets maker and you will have your channels enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-autobouquetsmaker_git194+b8c7e01-r25_tmtwin123.rar you can just install autoboquets maker then scan your channels and go from there if no joy I would install open atv 4.2 and update less messing for your sister. sure you can talk her through it.
                      if you choose a Salisbury area you will get some channels even if its wrong area code.

                      just a thought your sister has connected to the correct input hasn't she ? we all make mistakes!

                          It will be easier for your sister if she has no experience just flash the image update via software management and all is installed for you auto bouquets maker cross epg just reboot then talk her through auto bouquets and cross epg all done.

                              Ta Woodward. Im helping her sunday as shes away with work so will let u know how we get on.
                              In all the yrs ive had a sunray both dcb c and dvb s tuners ive never encountered this.

                                  Maybe there is no cable feed at her house ,just BB .

                                              Hi all many thanks for all your help so far - but no I have not had any joy. I spent Sunday afternoon on skype video call with my sister and husband. I talked them through a reflash so we could start from scratch, the new splitter was used and the box was connected to the net. We scanned using autoboquet maker - changed provider to virmin uk then changed area to Salisbury. 0 services found. Sooooooo frustrating.
                                              I tld him to go outside and tell me whats in the box on the wall he said coax to coax - so i said try splitter in at that point. He scanned and once again no services found.
                                              I really dont understand why he wont pick up anything. The tuner is fine as I tested in my house before i sent it. Anybody any other ideas.
                                              They dont want to get virmin out to install a min sub box at ?13 a month just so they can use the dm800. I am losing the plot

                                                  do a manual scan, leave the splitter of outside it will reduce your signal coaxial to coaxial is ok connect the coaxial directly to the box missing of the splitter and router so you have a a direct feed from the connection on the wall you don't need the router to scan only to clear you channels, are you positive you have a signal just to clarify she does have virgin broadband.
                                                  have you tried these tuner settings. or use service scan type put in provider if above does not work. (it may say cable uk instead of virgin)
