Vu Uno DVB-C

Hi, I am thinking about purchasing this receiver. I have the VU Duo on the Sat but since the loss of HD I need an alternative.

I prefer the Enigma interface. Is this receiver worth purchasing? Is it also simple to setup?

If it has to be vu+ why not buy the ultimo and put both sat and cable in it or all cable ( it has three plug and play tuner slots) or the gigablue quad. The uno can only take a single cable tuner but you set up all the above mentioned boxes in the same way as your duo. Sat isn't dead m8 there are many more birds in the sky than 28.2 do if your going to buy a new box you really should be looking at one of the two hybrid boxes I've just mentioned that way you can have twin sat and twin cable tuners in the same box to cover all eventualities. BTW the uno is still a very good cable receiver. I have one upstairs and it never missed a beat but mind you neither does my quad+

That is a good idea, the Ultimo is not really a lot more for what you get.

How easy is it configure the sat and cable together? i.e search for services, plugins etc?

It runs autobouquet for both if you need it. Just set the sat to sd only or just scan them on automatic scan with cable set to your preferred provider (i won't go into depth on that one) which is usually in the image you flash. Never used bh for cable side but vix works well although my personal favourite is open ATV especially if your a bh user. You will find openatv very easy to switch to in terms of button map with the built in graphical epg almost exactly like coolmans

You can only Run 4 sat tuners in the Ultimo 2 x Single in slot A & B and the Dual Sat Tuner in Slot C, it's a limitation on the Enigma2 side if i remember correctly.

I tired it myself when i had an ultimo it will not recognise 2 x Dual tuners and another single at the same time

The Extra Cost for the Gigablue Quad even in Basic 2 tuner configuration is far better value than the Vu Ultimo which is currently around ?249 and the Quad plus around ?270

The only difference between support from the Vu to the Quad plus is one image team and that is Blackhole.

The specifications on the other hand tell a different story Ultimo 2 x 405mhz Processor Quad Plus 2 x 1300mhz processor etc... the list goes on

You won't be disappointed. It is a cracking box and compared to your duo it is miles ahead.

You could also try a LX3 in my opinion the best receiver next to the Duo2 and their is also the Mutant HD240 with 4 plug-able tuners but that is more expensive
