    Bought a second hand cable box v box hd Cisco to test my cable connection as cabled fitted but never used as moved in house last year anyway box will only boot to AP53 and logo of virgin media will not go any further wondering if box bust or if cable for my property had been pulled from street cabinet any ideas and thanks

    While that error may indicate no signal, it may also be because the box is being used in an area with a different NetID.

    Did you buy it from someone local to you?

    Unlike 3rd party boxes, genuine boxes only work in the area that they are supplied to.

      Yeah bought off e bay didn't have a card with it it's a Cisco box v plus hd only bought to test I have an active connection but not getting anywhere with it any other way I can test line is active

        Hope you didn't pay too much for that V box.

        AFAIK the only way to test if the line is active is to use either a genuine VM box from someone who lives in the same area as you, or to try a 3rd party box.

        If you know anyone that has an old unofficial cable box you could borrow like a Starview, Dbox2, Kryptview etc then you should get the FTA channels if your feed is still active.

        You could also take a gamble & buy one of the cheaper cable boxes, like a Q5 HD box (around ?60 on Ebay). If it doesn't work, then you could resell it & get most of your money back.

          Only paid a few quid for box so not much to lose really getting a sky dvb usb tuner tomorrow so can test that way
