About to buy dm500c - still a good idea??

Hey guys, I was about to buy a Dreambox dm500c..... Is it still a good idea with Ireland now on n3? I live in Surrey and have the Vm XL package. I want the box primarily for sk*sp*rts. If the UK changes to n3 will all the channels be encrypted? If I'd still be able to use the box to access all the normal channels then I'll probably go for it and use it for a multiroom. If it would become a doorstop then I'll have to give it some more consideration. Any advice would be great.
    Cheers.

    Hi
I've just gotten one and I'm not too keen on it although i think It'll grow on me. It certainly has advantages over closed source alternatives like the Eurovox and similar. I think that I'm gonna try a dBox next as they seem to have a lot more support in comparison with the dreambox.

And with regards to your actual question haha, erm, I'd say it's still worth it. It can virtually pay for itself in less than six months depending on what you would usually subscribe to.

People seem to be very optimistic and are believing that virgin won't change to Nagra 3 (or any other encryption for that matter) because it'll mean they'd have to change hardware or at the very least send out thousands of new cards to viewers.

But the risk has been there for many years now, and they havent done much I think. It is inevitable that they will eventually do something, but what that something is, I dont know, and when they'll do it, i doubt will be soon.$

    Sorry for the long post

only if the 600 is an original and not a copy, cos the tuners
inside a clones are soldered to the board, where as an original
              are plug in type
