at the mo , those are using an emulator to decrypt the keys.

most people have been lucky with 1 keyroll in the last 6 month.

when a keyroll happens you will get a picture freeze for a few seconds, or possibly need a re boot or even a channel change to get the picture back on.

now if N3 was in place it will do a key change every 10 seconds or so. Now if you think about it if a key change was every 10 seconds there is no way your box would be able to decrypt the keys in time to get a steady picture.

Yes thats correct however receivers like the dreambox and dbox which are both Linux based should be able to emulate nag3 if ever a fix is discovered!
Nagra 1 i believe use 8 digits for key 00 and another 8 for key 01 - now Nagra2 uses 16digits for key 00 and another 16 digits for key 01 - now nag3 uses 32 digits for key 00 and another 32 for key 01. This makes the encryption So much more secure and emulating a encryption like this will cause most receivers to crash and reboot due to the processing speed required!

Im sure there will be a fix sometime for nag3 make take a year or so, at then maybe nag 4 will have been introduced. Maybe i should hang onto my dbox?

You'd be v. lucky for nag 3 to be hacked in a year.No one in the world has hacked n3 ever since it was released

Nothing beats the palm sized dreambox. All other boxes will be bricks of rubbish soon. Dbox 2 is good as well.

Names like technomate, eurovox, starview, etc, we will hear less and less of them soon as they will fall behind in technology

Satellite TV across europe have over 15 providers using Nag3 and all these providers and channels are much more attractive than the sky channels If nag3 is ever hacked it will be a rom being used for a satellite provider as most of the hackers have no access to Virgin media feed as theyre not in the UK.

So whats a batter european package than Sky UK apart from Sky Italia and do they have a lot of english and asian channels. I know nothing on sat(except Digi TV) can be hacked, but just curious. For people reading this Digi TV is due to go secure some time soon
