Here's the way to do a scan courtesy of DELTAWING for the new blade 8000 hope this helps until the new firmware comes out.

I am quoting his reply to me.

ok what you do is goto tuner2 scan
then select powerscan select 6952 as your symble rate and press scan its gonna take a while to scan but should get about 350 odd channels, i have the newer firm on mine but were testing that should be able to release that in the next day or so.

This is from another thread on net I found may be of some use.
For those out there this is the 'patch' Firmware use 9991 access.

Hi

If you download the file and unzip it and place it on a usb drive, plug that into the box.

Then enter the menu, then external device, then file manager.
You will then see your usb, select the file by pressing ok and it will start to flash it.
