and i can safely say...i`ll have another cold sometime in the future!...

even a broken clock is right twice a day!...
if VM are not under pressure to add a secure feed then how come Ireland is nag3 and also they implemented more key changes over the dec08/jan09 period?...VM are very aware of the weakness in there current system.

i have to agree with all of you in different ways.VM cannot possibly carry on the way they are without tightening their belt so changes are inevitable but when is the million $$ ?.

i read the artical in the link but i found one section were VM will struggle :-
          QUOTE

"The cable operator is looking for subscribers in parts of Kent to sign up for the trial of what it has called "next generation television".

how the ~~~~ are they gonna do that ?.3/4 of kent probaly owns a dodgy box !.

also ,does this mean i will have to add a 3 way splitter when they come round ?.

oh and just to let you know they finally took my nieghbours SA analogue box back last month so im pretty confident i'll be watching "morecambe & wise christmas special" on bravo with me trifle !.

Ofcom and Uk Legislation does not apply in Irl.

Sky could very well take all there channels off UPC in ireland, but have there hands tied in the UK.
Media watchdog also warns it could refer satellite broadcaster's movies deal with Hollywood studios to Competition Commission. By Chris Tryhorn

Ip tv or nag3 who cares? Neither will be hacked. Its not about nag3 being hacked its the specific rom being used..
The rom vm are using has the lowest chance of being hacked as the hackers can only be based in england. The rom being used in ireland means only irish hackers can thy and hack it.

if people are made aware of this then i am sure certain `legal issues` will slow or rule out its introduction.

correct me if im wrong but doesnt BT vision already use iptv you order it through your remote and it is streamed to your box isnt it?

one thing you can be sure though is it wont last forever whatever happens but we have had a good run

imo though virgin are in no rush to change they have no real need too as i think if we all had to pay for tv most people would choose sky over virgin then if most people chose sky they would probly go with them for there broadband and phone service too taking more business of them

at least with everyone on dodgy boxes they tend to pay for there broadband and home phone with virgin

tbh, i have a subbed box upstair and i prefer it to the sky package. the ondemand and catchup stuff is awesome

i think vm will invest their money in iptv because they are big on the demand tv shit
