Ok what have you tried for fault finding. First things first, do you have file swap set up. You shouldn't need it on a solo2 and it may be affecting the image. If you don't have it set up try setting it up.
Secondly did you put image on then bombard it with all the plugins in one go, if so reflash and start with just cam and test remembering to restart after every plugin installed and test until you find what one is causing the fault. Once you find it reflash and then don't install the problem one.

dont use swap on solo2 its not needed and can make things worse.presume for a multi tuner you are using either 1.38 or 2.3.0.recheck where epg is going and not to internal flash.

does the usb need driver updates

Have set up a swap file which has calmed it down hasn't crashed the epg I always set to hdd on any image I use it only has auto bequests and a cam on it now using 2.3.0 I suspect it's the usb tuner is causing the problem as it crashed a lot when I was channel changing but since I have set up a swap file it seems to of improved a lot have tried to see if any update drivers for the usb but none are showing so far so good for now

I agree swap shouldn't be needed in normal setup but who knows how much ram a usb tuner chews through especially if the drivers are a bit buggy

You have to remember that these boxes are linux based so will run at maximum ram usage and swap it out as necessary. This may be why activating a swap file is helping even though it isn't necessary on a solo2 that isn't running auxiliary hardware. What i mean is don't be surprised if you have very little ram free when you find the usage setting, it's supposed to be like that. @cacti, I keep hearing enabling file swap will be detriment to these higher end boxes but don't see why, unless they are different from a standard Linux setup the swap file won't be used unless the ram hits a critical level thus stopping the system from crashing. I have 16gb of ram in a debian setup i use for plex amongst other things but still have a swap file setup as multiple transcodes soon eat up the ram. I'm still learning with Linux so please feel free to put me in my place.

The usb must be eating up the ram I have re flashed image and not installed the usb tuner now all is fine no more crashing so problem solved for now I'm going to buy either a gigablue quad with dedicated cable tuner or a vu duo 2 with cable tuner just can't make my mind up which one to buy

Quad is a much better price. Mine is faultless and quiet (no fan) seems to run fine without one at a decent temp and it's been on 24/7 for about a year now

Seconded the Quad+ here as well probably because i have one but to be fair i did consider the Duo2 and now with the price reduction there is only a ?40 difference, But i needed at least 2 sat tuners and the option of either a 3rd sat tuner and a cable tuner or both cable tuners something which cannot be done on the Duo2.

Also do not rule out the Xtrend receivers there newer models the 8000 has 3 X P&P tuners the 8500 has 4 x P&P tuners and so does the 10000 model

                          Failings with Crossepg

Bit of a strange one this I previously had Openpli4 on my Zgemma H1 and all worked fine but for the life of me couldn't get Crossepg to work so scanned the web and found I needed to install Libcurl which then read all the channels bout 910 but when it came to reading titles it would stick at 488kb for a long time then at some stage it would go up to 2.1mb parse but was left with loads of empty spaces in my coolmans tv guide and the normal epg.
Tried to delete crossepg folder and dat file and still the same so gave up on it as a bad idea and thought I would try this back up image.
I also tried 4 different usb flash drives in front and back.
So I thought I would try your backup image Digicom and before I could try the crossepg I couldn't get past AutoBouquet Maker. It just wouldn't write my own bouquets for my area no matter what I did so gave up on this one as well.
Well I thought I would persevere with ATV and download their latest build. Looked a bit different so tried the AutoBouquet Maker I finally got it to change as all the bouquets were in German.
I thought I shouldn't have any problems now with crossepg thinking this was originally an image problem with Openpli4 but after setting up most of the new ATV image Im having similar problems again its getting to around 488kb after finding 910 channels and finishing at 1.93mb when its finished summaries.
Im thinking now that the problem lies in crossepg and not the image.
Im using crossepg 8.1 so any help gladly appreciated with only Opentv as provider only. Also tried Rytec but that seems to be down.
Edit when I checked crossepg log there is something about maximum loop exeeded in there and further investigation says that crossepg struggles to read raw data.
