When flashing the usb flash drive must be in the back, the folder on the stick should say Zgemma.
Once you put the flash drive in it should say usb,hit the power button it should say flash and let it flash.
    No need for bootloader.

Fat32 is correct. My mate is having a similar problem so try another stick and a fresh download but make sure you unzip the file so its a beige folder and power on the box.

          Thanks M8

It worked straight away with another stick.

I been searching the net for hours and all i find is people asking and getting advice but they never come back and say thanks or that it worked.s

            Agree with the above.
these boxes can be tempramental when it comes to flashing via usb
Even my Vu Duo(non clone) spits out some usb's.

Ive just been on the website there is a bootloader but glad you got sorted.
I just hope there's an easy way to unbrick these boxes like the Dreambox.

From what i have seen to unbrick you have to jtag the box like the good old days.

If you use the Official Supported images and none of the Modified ones such as Vix and OpenPLI you should never need to worry about bricking the box in the first place

Just to add to the thread, You may still get the boot appearing on the lcd display even using a new USB Drive, happen to me yesterday went through 5 different USB drives trying to flash one of these box's for mate so I ended up using a 16GB cruzer which I knew worked everytime I used it and even that didn't worked so if this happens.... hold the on/off button on the front when you switching the box on at the back, USB should appear on the LCD display as soon as it does let go of the on/off and flash should now appear on the LCD Display.

I've only had this problem when trying to flash a box which had the patched VIX Apollo image on it.

And again just to add the correct Flashing Image procedure on this type of receiver is place USB in the back of the receiver with your image on, Switch the receiver on the display should say USB when this appears you press the 'POWER BUTTON' on the front panel 'ONCE' to start the image flashing procedure.

There is no need to hold the button in and then switch on the power.

Does the box start ok with no usb stick inserted or do you only get a red light when starting the box with a usb inserted?

Hi macman what I found playing around with these boxes on your usb stick formatted in fat32 format the box is looking for zgemma folder so make sure only that folder is on usb ,and in the folder should be five files and make sure usb is in the back usb slot.
should work every time. hope that helps

You can install locally, if the usb does not show up for it to flash.
