lan connection issue on xtrend 8000

got a new box and find it very very hard to get network wizard to get a lan connection, dhcp enabled swapped cables over from working duo to non working extrend and still no connection
rebooted box and router many times reset network.port has green light and flashing amber lights.
assigned static ip and still nothing,in checking network all 3 settings are blank, current, netmask and gateway say n/a.
all boxes are hard wired through a switch then to router.
only when box was powered off for 15 mins and powered on again did it work.
why should a box take so long to connect to lan?

Its either a Hardware (Box Issue) or a Software (Image used) Fault

ok so reflash needed to check further, better try and copy channel info over as that takes a long time scanning

You could always try a different image completely Vix are not the be all and end all of images there are others to choose from, Infact when i had an xtrend there own images are very good indeed
