    A few questions...

I haven't looked or bothered with the cable scene for quite a number of years now due to jumping over to satellite when NAG3 was released all those years ago..
I was a user of the Starview boxes back in the day .

Anyway, ive been thinking about installing a cable box in one of my bedrooms as i have sat downstairs and sat in another bedroom upstairs.

I still have the "Vermin" box on the wall upstairs to get my feed from - apologies as i don't know the technical name for this, so i will call it the feed box...

Basically will my line still be active as i haven't used cable services for quite some years?

Would a AMIKO MINI T2C be an adequate enough box for my needs? (Which is basic viewing and channel changing, nothing fancy).

How hard will this be? Simple for me i should imagine? Any other recommended boxes?

I want this to be done on a cheap budget as it is for a very non technical minded persons bedroom .

There is a good chance your cable feed is still live unless in the years you have not used it a neighbour may have taken your slot in the Street CAB due to over subscription, Never had experience of the Amiko range heard good and bad reports more bad than good especially about how weak the tuners are.

A Zgemma H1 will cost about ?10 more than the Amiko and will blow it out of the water, Its full Linux Enigma2 with Sat/Cable tuners pretty flimsily built and look awful in white but the cable tuner is fantastic and very sensitive.

If you still have your old box then connect it up and see if you can get the non encrypted channels...if you can then your line is still "live". You will need to scan your area.......
