Which box?

Hi, i'm at a loose end, I currently have a kryptview A780 which has worked well for the last few years with only a few problems. I want something that is HD and more reliable, which has led me to a CS box.

I have limited knowledge of these CS boxes. Alls I know at this point is you cant get HD with Sky CS at the moment, will this ever change? But you can with cable CS.

I'm after a box that can be used for either satellite or cable that has a fast channel switch time. I know some have multi tuners which can record and watch another channel, can someone recommend me a box that matches this description, when I scroll down these forums I see so many different boxes but I'm not sure which to go with or their individual capability.

So please if anyone can suggest a box which matches this description which can record and can be used either for satellite or cable and not as critical but if there is one that has a dual tuner?

Dont hold your breath waiting for HD on sky. A good box for the money is this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...Star-H1-amp-2S. cheap as chips and does what it says on the tin you can also get a Gigablue Quadhd plus brilliant box bit more pricier but well worth the money.

Thanks for the quick reply, have i read right something about some pairing thing for sky, is that a threat to cs sky? Can any of the box menus be updated to look like genuine box, not that it matters, im just curious of what they are capable of

that is why hd channels went black card paired to box,anything is possible,dont think the menus can be altered but can add a skin for box to look like sly.
why does everyone want a box to look like providers box i dont.

So am i right in saying hd is still ok with vm then? And sky have locked the cards to boxes to prevent hd cs?

I cant believe how much choice there is. Is there a dreambox that can do what i need, there seems to be alot of support for that type of box which is useful!

A Dreambox is now probably not worth it granted they have support the 800se does but the Zgemma H1/H2 is half the price and runs faster then the 800 but probably on a par with the 800se.

Plus you get official support from OpenATV,Opendroid and Italysat as well as other patched images

Im sorry to jump in on this thread but its answered my question.
I did have kryptview but as e all know its now finished.

So Zgemma H1/H2 it is can someone pm me a reliable and good price supplier.

Can someone also pm me with a easy start guide on how it works, ok Ive done a lot of reading here but its not that easy if your a beginner.

Hi, i have a Skybox f5 and now its time to upgrade, Im looking at the Zgemma H1 aand been qouted around 130, first of all is this worth price.Could you or someone kindly inbox me how these works.

I curretly have SLY dish and only have Vimmin BB not tv or phone., suber hub router in a differetn room to where i want the Zgemma H1 box to go.
few other questons.

1. how do i connect H1 box with a virmin line, i,e atm using LNB from sly on skybox.
2. how does gifts work on h1 boxes.

If someone could inbox more info would be greatly appreicated.

you split your bb feed with a good splitter,one side goes to coaxial cable input on box,other side of splitter goes to your router/hub and then lan cable to lan of box.
