DDOS Attacks On Cable Box Websites

Hi Folks

Those of you that actively use the cable forums will have noticed the majority of the big cable box sellers websites are down or have been down at some stage over the past 7 days.

All of these websites have been under DDOS attack.

It is very suspicious that all the big cable box sellers websites have been under attack at some stage or another over the last few days.

Those of you wondering who i am, i am the owner of DVB Junkie UK. My site has been under attack since 10.30PM tonight. I managed to identify the hit within 10 minutes of it happening.

Over the last few days Sky Wonder, Wizard Satellite, TheBox Distribution, Iwantabox, Satandcable have also been under DDOS attack. One of the other cable forums is under attack also Tech Watch.

Who ever is doing this is specifically targeting the cable box sellers & cable forums also.

I just thought i would make people aware of the situation.

I know TW as ben off for most of today and as been iffy the last couple of days, I'm surprised that DK although running a bit slow this am has not really been affected.
hopefully the barstewards will get peed off and slither back down into the sh*t holes that they came from

Wizardmods is down too from last night.

All the attacks are from overseas bar one. One of the IP addresses in the attacks was associated to a Virgin Media broadband customer.

Techwatch & Wizardmods are both down due a DDoS attack also.

think this is one of the first times i have seen this happen to cable forums happens to sat forums all the time have seen some of the big sat forums be down for days over stuff like this

Looks like the effected forums are slowly recovering from the recent DDOS attacks, TW is back up again. Its still a little slow but its up. I am sure the other effected sites will follow soon.

can be a number of things

here are a few

1. some rival forum
2. someone thats just got banned.
3. some kids thinking its fun.
4. cable/sat company employee.

thats just a few, i am sure there are other reasons, but what annoys me is that most forums are only here to help people.

maybe to stop the use of cable and sat suppliers selling boxes and for the forums who try to keep boxes running,stop both and whats left=doorstop, bit of overkill as the forums do a hell of a lot more than that.
