How to flash a Digivox xl in simple terms

Hi your help required for an old timer who has just had a digvox xl black box given him with no ideas about flashing the box or which files to use or even how to open them i know i am a pain and these questions have been answered some where but i can not find them any help would be much appreciated

this is for the xl box only not usb box.

Thanks you have helped a lot i have followed the links and it worked first time with no probs, its great that i have had replies to a subject which i suppose you have heard time and time again, but when i tried following the threads it just was not working thats why i asked the question thanks again
