have cable physical line but not sure if they are active. if i get sv box will it work or do i need minimum subscription?

hi m8, test the line first, if you have a tv with freeview,plug the line into the tv and scan tv for channels.(cable adaptor needed)
If its live you should pick up the standard free channels(bbc,itv,chan 5 and mabey a disney channel)

I used to have cable but went to sky, so still had cable wire in house. I've connected SV3 to the cable line and am receiving full channels without basic package.
