Bob, Those instructions there are to set up the USB storage device, not a boot USB drive.

Once you've set up the box including USB storage, make a backup you can restore the backup one of two ways.
1. Use filezilla to pull the 'zgemma' folder off the box to PC then transfer to a Fat32 USB drive. Max size of image apparently 100MB but can't confirm.
2. Use the Zgemma itself to flash the image from backup image you've made;
menu-setup-software man-flash online/local press yellow and yellow again then scroll until you find roots.bin then green to flash, this option has no size limit.

I can't seem to find crossepg on the plugin section. Do you have a link for the ipk? Sorry if I can't ask that.

As later versions of crossepg ain't compatible with OpenAtv5.1, make sure you follow the telnet commands in the guide to stop it updating to a newer version.

I put files onto the image with dreambox control centre by ftp ( so would think it ok to transfer image backup to pc )

Will the Zgemma folder on the box be in usr partion of the image as example the keys folder is usr/ keys
