WHAT CABLE BOX IS THIS?

Inherited this box a while ago, but kept going off and was being charged ?15 a time to flash/keyed. Since getting a Eurovox its just been sat in a corner collecting dust, now out of curiousity I'm wondering what it is, starview? some kinda clone? and what firmware would it need. The remotes similar to a starview one but when I broke the original (in picture) i bought what I thought was the same of flea-by, unfortunately it wasn't.

I've been informed the full name of the box is a "DYNASAT SILVER BOX" can anyone point me in the right direction for firmware/updates etc?

Yes it would have been called that as a Sat box. But as SunRise said if you have the modified cable version it is called a Silverbox.

I downloaded the file, hooked everything together and now i'm getting an error message saying "flash update failed"

I'm leaving box in standby (red light)
Do i have to go to a menu through the remote?

Thanks for the info, followed instructions but keep getting "failure" message.

In my ignorance have i bricked it? when box was on it was on constant green, when off, red, now it just constantly between them

hi pal, dont think youve bricked it youve probably unplugged it before it was finished. ive got a guide on how to fix it, ill dig it out and send it to you
