Zgemma - first and second gen differences?

Looking around at KV780 replacement and the zGemma box looks a good balance regarding spec and cost.

Could anybody tell me the difference between the first and second gen combos please (H2 and h.2h)? Just trying to work out whether the extra cost for the second gen h.2h is worth it.

    Thank you.

From reading reports on this forum and others, the h2h has a faster CPU & chipset but a poorer cable tuner.

I can't comment on the cable side of things as I have a 1st gen 2s which can be painfully slow scrolling thru the epg and fav channels to a point where I'm think of upgrading.

Thanks for the quick reply - now I'm even more confused given the poorer cable tuner, which is what I will be using, is on the newer model

Maybe zgemma isn't the best option for me after all...

Again from reading around various sources the H.2H shares the same tuner as the H2 first gen model which appears to be slightly less sensitive, If your in doubt then look at other models from different manufacturers

The main question is, what is your budget? As I said the 1st gen Zgemma is slow but it works I will most probably only upgrade my 2s if it breaks or my footy coupon comes up this Saturday.

Before you make any decisions about a new box wait for a few cable members to post their opinions.

Strange I've not had any problems with my H.2H cable tuner, it picks up all channels no problem maybe it's down to the user that the problem arises. The same goes for the H2 as well I've had to setup a couple of friends boxs and I've never had any problems whatsoever.

Also own the white H1 which my Brother use's.
