what a load of utter shite , if N3 has been cracked then why would the hackers advertise this ?.
as far as im aware , by ppl who know a shit load more than i'll ever understand its been cracked and is in place to be released once N3 has been fully released.

and if it aint ? then you cant grumble .

Apparantly this is just a hoax, a few people over on the cableforum have called VM and been told that they are not replacing the cards. Why would they, they'd need to replace a lot of the older boxes first surely!

because its shown on a test channel and not on a VM box, i therefore believe its a trick to get people to contact them for a new card or be tricked into phoning them asking questions about it..

it will be similar to the fraud channel, where only a dodgy box can see it..

A member at CF forum asked someone from Virgin Media on Twitter and they confirmed its true.

In regrads to the new cards i asked this on twitter and also posted the link as well :

devilincarnate0: @virginmedia Is it true that you are sending new cards out for custs ?

And this is the reply that i got back :

virginmedia: @devilincarnate0 Yes; more information will be supplied in the coming weeks. AA

so it looks like that it is true !

just seen the advert on a test channel, got to agree with aftermath its a trick, if u phone up about the "new cards" u will be under suspicion straight away, ~~~~ing lame of vm to say the least. and another thing to think about is all the key rolls we been getting could be to get peeps to retune their boxes so they r sure to see the video.

Everybody knows that Sky is much better than Virgin Media, let's be honest! If everyone who has a Dodgy box could no longer receive free TV channels and were forced to pay, most people would cancel their Virgin Media subscription and choose Sky!

We all subscribe to Virgin, giving them a health income, it's just that some people get for their money!

If I were part of the management team at Virgin Media I would opt to keep these subscriptions rather than risk loosing them and not getting anything!

Sky and Virgin are similar in price, and personally I would choose Sky everytime, their boxes are brilliant, especially the SKy+ box.

It appears to me that Virgin Media have a choice. Either keep things as they are and get ?20 a month from me or spend a lot of time and money securing their system, and ultimately, loos my ?20 per month! When you times me (as a typical user) by the whole nation, will the sums add up? I rather think not!

The irony is that if Virgin Media upgrade their system to try and increase income, they may not be in business long enough to regret it! Talk about being the architec of your own downfall!

Sounds like an interesting dilema for their mathmaticians to solve!

In the end Sky could be the real winner!

Anyway, I hope that I have prompeted food for though for Virgin Media!

                          What does everyone else think?

Totally agree. I would begrudgingly go back to sly.
As for the maths - Well?

think they should send there engineers out and disconnect all non payers instead ,, it cant be that hard , l bet there sitting around doing nothing at the moment anyway

that would keep sky happy as there the ones that r not happy about the free tv where watching
