Fist off i dont thnk VM will lose that many customers i wont be leaving coz i reckon there is no better BB than VM and im sure a lot of others will feel the same .
lets say 250,000 ppl leave vm because of n3, thats 250,000 x say ?20 a month which is ?5 mill they lose on average ( based on some paying min subs and some paying more )
there's 2 million cloned boxes out there to date roughly now work out how much there losing in revenue based on them boxes obtaining everything on offer ?
that 250,000 ppl going to sky is a tiny drop in the ocean compared to what there losing now in revenue with the current state of play
now do u really think for 1 min that vm are bothered wether u take ur ?50 a month to sky ?
if u do then u are not looking at the big picture because its well known there's approx 250,000 ppl if not more that are constantly moving from sky to vm and vice versa on a regular basis with lots of ppl not paying bills then jumping to their rivals.
vm have waited for their subscribers to reach a certain number then they decided to go n3 to kill all hacks, does this sound familiar? sky ring any bells? they did exactly the same thing when they hit 3 million subbers then dropped analogue like a lead ballon and did they go under?

As i say guys i will lose my d box but i wont leave VM coz of the BB , ill watch SKY as well but i wont be paying uncle Rupert for it, im off to order my dreambox s .

We all subscribe to Virgin, giving them a health income, it's just that some people get for their money!

If I were part of the management team at Virgin Media I would opt to keep these subscriptions rather than risk loosing them and not getting anything!

Sky and Virgin are similar in price, and personally I would choose Sky everytime, their boxes are brilliant, especially the SKy+ box.

It appears to me that Virgin Media have a choice. Either keep things as they are and get ?20 a month from me or spend a lot of time and money securing their system, and ultimately, loos my ?20 per month! When you times me (as a typical user) by the whole nation, will the sums add up? I rather think not!

The irony is that if Virgin Media upgrade their system to try and increase income, they may not be in business long enough to regret it! Talk about being the architec of your own downfall!

Sounds like an interesting dilema for their mathmaticians to solve!

In the end Sky could be the real winner!

Anyway, I hope that I have prompeted food for though for Virgin Media!

          What does everyone else think?
I pay Vermin ?45.00 a month for super fast Broadband and phone, sadly I would get rid and go with Sly, already making contingency plans for impending black screen

You are right though the biggest winner here will be Sly, Vermin will take a terrible pounding from those on the Broadband and phone, cutting back on quality broadband for cheap shit speed broadband to pay their Sly Subs.

I wonder if gordon Brown has one ?

Interesting post matey ...I would hold off on the dreambox for a little while ... do a search for sly itallia and what they have done to combat that way of opening things on tuesday of this week , it wont be long before caid 0963 goes the same way.
