          Switching your Smart Card

Why are you sending me a new card?

We're about to upgrade the technology of your Virgin TV set top box so you can benefit from more improvements, more security and more of the good stuff fibre optic technology brings.

This stunt by Vermin is not going to help them, the majority of folk using third party boxes are paying at least ?20 pm.

What they going to do ? trade the thousands of people paying ?20 pm for nothing ?

never! They have pretty much shot themselves in the foot. Ofcom said(or are going to say) that Sky have to sell to VM as long as VM will pay for the content and Sky cant do anything about that. More people will just move to Sky. VM would lose more customers this way. I would just ignore Sky's threats as ultimately they shall win, not VM

Lose your memory sticks? Forget to backup? Why not get 2GB of free space online, and I get 250MB too

It would be funny if they move over to IPTV/N3 and then find out they're losing a lot more money with people not subscribing than if they were pirating, to switch back to n1 One can dream

I have to agree. When this happens, and it's looking likely, I'll switch over to Sky.

In Ireland, UPC have seen an increase in subs since they introduced N3.

So alot of people wont go to the bother of switching to sky, and the extra subs could even out the losses of the people who do go to sky.

also cable co like UPC, virgin can compete with sky with there package deal ie , tv + Super fast BB + Phone bundle, something sky cannot do for near the same price.

After 10 years of using a open system its time they have to be seen to stepup and secure there network instead of being the laughing stock of Europe.

The cat got let out of the bag by a VM employee, its not Nag3 but a variation of it whatever that means. I think its to do with IPTV now Cisco have finished installing headend kit to the Vm network. We will have to wait and see what the state of play is when implemented and find a workround. Not much on tv anyway other than repeats and american crap, not worth paying out good money for, film not worth the extra ?20 odd quid per month or sports, can get them on my sat system. Freview and Freesat are the best option as they have and will have more HD channels soon and if you get a third party sat box you can pick up many more channels on the astra bird than Freesat official box.
                                Keep calm carry on.
