How do you know that ? first off there is no such thing as n3 its a hack name, no one knows yet what CAID 1841 is either thats has been logged in Leeds but its Kudelski, the boxes wont need to be changed it will all work through the new smart card just like Sky did, if this new encryption cripples the pirate boxes then VM im sure will say its justified .

most people who have these "boxes" pay a sub anyway, so they are not loosing any major revenue, why spend millions on new encryption just for a few dodgy players?

Still only seeing 1800 in glasgow area on channels. no other encryption streams sofar.

Just looked at my current card and it also looks the same. Only differece is on the backside of that card (near the barcode) Mine has a letter L and not B. Had my card since 2008.

I think some of you are in denial, face facts it?s not a case of if anymore but when.

I have it on really good authority that it really is Nagra 3 style encryption, they are upgrading the entire system now ready for the switch, the only grey area left is the time limit where even people in the know are unsure, from what I can gather this encryption will start to be implemented en mass some time between November and February 2010 when the Analogue signal is switched off, the first channels to go will be the premium channels Sky Sports and Movies, the rest of the dross will be phased out over the coming months.

Simple choice really ,hang fire wait for the inevitable with thousands of others and go from there, where the likelihood is you will be waiting for weeks for an install from Virgin or Sky with their engineers being inundated with work, and run the risk of having no footy at Christmas etc, it?s a gamble you have to take.

Those who speculate that it will affect Virgin revenue are badly misinformed, revenue went through the roof in Ireland, contrary to your beliefs Virgin can compete very favourably against Sky with their all round packages.

If you can get over the fact its all over here is a fairly decent package.

Virgin Broadband L ,Phone M, Television M+ ,including Sky Sports complete package, and ESPN, then negotiate a free installation, they will throw in a V+Box that will set you back ?59.00 a month, I don?t think that?s to bad for the phone, broadband and all the footy.

Sky package is nearly ?60.00 and you still have to pay for a phone line(?11.00) and find a broadband subscription putting you back ?15.00 for a decent 10 meg speed.

I am not happy I only bought a Krypt last month but what can you do.
