The wee box on the wall?

You know the little box on the wall that all our stuff screws into, inside it is some sort of splitter/filter thing?

Is this absolutely essential or can it be removed possibly helping to increase my signal level?

Its not a splitter its an isolator put in case of any power surges either from VM's end or your equipment, Best to leave it in place
