Why so slow when doing a cable scan?

Why does a cable scan take so long?

My satellite scans are much quicker.

I've setup the correct NetID and symbol rate for my area, it starts scanning and finds about 256 channels fairly quickly then it slows down to a crawl.

Seriously, it takes like 15 minutes to scan the remaining 50% of transponders.

I'm guessing this is because the box is scanning frequencies that don't exist or something like that), if so, is there a file I can edit and remove all the dud transponders?

If your using ABM it will only scan the frequency range set for your area

Oh, so I don't need to do the Automatic Scan, I can just skip that and use AutoBouquets??

OMG, look at that, it worked!

I've been sitting here like a fanny doing a full Auto Scan.......Doh!

      Thanks very much Digicon.
