Is It Nagra 3 Or A Rom11 Card Upgrade ?

All this talk of Nagra 3 imminent yet something just doesn’t seem right.

For starters why are new installs with Virgin still being done with Rom11 cards, I know off 3 installs this week, (one today) done where boxes were installed with the Rom 11 cards.

Besides one solitary picture of a Rom 180 card doing the rounds, I have yet to hear of anybody receiving a Rom 180 card.

I read a post by Lincsat on another forum where he makes the valid point we are all speculating about whets happening, yet the fact is this could be a simple card change updating all the cards to Rom11s,it would make financial sense for Virgin to cause minimal disruption to the network with IPTV around the corner.

That would be supported by the fact Rom11s are being installed still

I would have thought with a major encryption change imminent we would be seeing the Rom 180s appearing but nothing.

We all know they read these forums; I am starting to think this “big encryption change” might be one big bluff, and that the big encryption change could be nothing more than a nice cheap Rom11 roll out with IPTV around the corner.

That is the same card that was installed with a new V+ box at the house of someone I know on Tuesday this week.

The installer also said that there would be a major change of ownership of the network, and that soon they would not be being billed by VM.

are they swappin out rom 10 for rom 11 ???
if so i wonder why, will iptv not work on rom 10 ?
if they installed all rom 10 "properly" they would be hacked a lot less

Obviously I have no idea if it's true or not, and I certainly wonder how an installer would know such a thing.

Big news like this is usually kept under wraps because of the laws surrounding insider trading etc so it's no surprise it hasn't been in the press.

As mentioned above the exact same thing happened here in Ireland and look at us now...blank screens.just because it rom 11 doesnt mean a build up to something else.Be warned.They dont do these thing just for the sake of a rom change,theyre has to be something behind it and believe me the costumer will be last to know.

I know what's happened in Ireland.

Your post suggested that something had happened in the UK.

What has happened? As far as I'm aware nothing. Or am I wrong about that?
