    The Best STB?

    Hi

I notice that threads like this exist (one as recent as today), however, I have a little additional request.

I have had a play with a Starview 5 STB and it's rather good, however, I found it rather clunky and slow. I'm not too sure what firmware it was running.

I'm looking at getting my first cable STB but I'm unsure of what I should get. I like the Starview 5 for its ease of use. But I was wondering if there is anything else feature rich?

I would like something that can access the HD channels, but crucially with a USB slot so I can transfer recordings? I'm rather a technical n00b and thus, something easy to install (like Starview) would be perfect.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Get the Kryptview DW800 if it's widely available at the moment. But in this climate I would rather wait with what you have working at the mo personally, as when VM pull the plug then that would be one hell of an expensive door stop.

You can however take the risk and hope that it works at least another 6 months.

Really with VM issuing new cards,it looks like we will be going the way of Ireland and there is no word of a breakthrough there. So,buy a Starview Combo, that way if the cable is not working for you,you still have satellite to play with.It has a USB mode for easy install of F/W.I hope this helps
