    What Cable box to buy?

    Hi Guys,

My mate is wanting a cable box & I told him I would get him one Im just not sure which one to buy & which is best?

I have ordered a Eurovox EX1100 but am thinking of sending it back as it seems everyone is having a lot of trouble with them freezing & EPG?.

I currently have a digivox xl that I never have any trouble with should I just get him one to?

    Any advice is appreciated

The BIG ? is how long are these cable boxes going to last(N3), but if you want a recommendation I would suggest the Starveiw5. I have had mine about a month and once i got the USB to work( downloading films) i am very very pleased with it.

Nobody knows about N3 / IPTV nobody to date excepte the cc, but if your worried get a Linux box which if any can be upgraded for future use at some point, ie:- Dbox, Dreambox, itgate etc...

ITgate TGM220 (swapable tuner), Dreambox 800 pro, Dreambox 500c x 2, DBox, Popbox media player.

I agree with all previous posters, nobody knows how long the boxes will last, now VM are issuing new cards to subscribers.Consider all options, even a working second hand one.If you still want to go ahead and have money to spend, then a Starview HD Combo. That way you can use it as a satellite receiver if cable goes down. Its maybe best to be patient just now
Winning fair & square is the hardest thing of all in Serie A

The Eurovox EX5000 is a very, very good box...we had one until we went over to satellite, my mother in-law has our old EX5000, and i have only ever had to update it once !! Just looked on Ebay, there seems a good second hand one on there with a Hard drive included !! So you also get to use the PVR function ( just like my in-laws ) you will need to act fast as they seem to either sell very quickly, or E-bay pull them from sale !!
