just managed to sort this i have a technika tv from tesco and i have just found out how to get the volume controls working from the v+ remote as the technika tv is not listed as working according to virgin. go into help and setup remote hold down vol up and mute button together until you get 2 flashes from remote then within 10 seconds type in 0103 then ok it works a treat just thought id pass this on hope it helps someone
