TiVo box "starting up "

Hi I got 3 virgin feeds coming into my house , don't know if any of them are actually "live" have connected a 2nd hand box Samsung box to 1 of them feeds and it jus shows "starting up" on the screen , is this indicative that the feeds are not live , or is it a box problem

You can not conclude from just that... you need to check first if the 2nd hand box is set for your area (netid correct) before you can go further...

Stick it to your Ear like in the VM advert and see if you can hear anything coming down (Only Kidding) without a Box or a meter there is no way

To check that the lines are live, just plug the tv into the virmin line and you should be able to get BBC, ITV and similar. At least that should be the case unless things have changed.

cannot do that anymore since digital, but wot you can do is go into EM on the box that should tell you wot the sig level's are coming in at........................c
