    Newbie cable Question

    Hi all,

I am not used to cable - I have always been on sattelite .

    (2 Questions)

I am moving to Liverpool and was wondering do you have to subscribe to VM to get a signal then use your reciver to unscramble ?

I have a Dreambox 7020 can i use that to get VM?

    TIA

If the cable is still 'live' then u could technically connect a box and scan (without a box u would only get the main fta chans if u just plugged the cable straight into your telly, with an adaptor).

If it's been disconnected at the big box then the line will be dead and u would need to subscribe to reactivate it.

It's always worth getting at least a basic sub though mate...

Btw, that was all told to me by a vm engineer while he was installing my cable many moons ago!

The dreambox 7020 is sat only can't get a cable tuner in this model even though so china supllyers state they sell them .
and as said above get your dish reinstalled as cable is been killed off soon (hope not though)
