Which cable box to get once vm gose to ng3

Hi all
just want to ask just now i have a segam d2 , but when it goes down all i get is the basic channels bbc1,2 no bbc3 or 4 same with itv no 3 or 4 and that is it no other channel at all i am thinking of getting a new box . So i was wondering which is the best to get once ng3 come i can us the box just as a normal free view box , i have been with vm/ntl for 8 years and when the connected me the took away my terrestrial connection so i don't think normal freeview boxes will work . Or if anybody know of one which will work with a vm connection

I wouldn't sit tight there will be no fix anytime soon from them or for any other fta receiver apart from maybe an addon to allow the box to cs.

is the kryptview open source, I was under the impression most of the Linux based box's (Dreambox) being open source were probably better supported, never had a Kryptview so cant comment on its support.

Krypview is closed source mate.

Only linux boxes are open source like Dreambox, Dbox etc.

also , as for kryptview and N3 ? ,i must agree with you that
the poeple behind the kryptview do know their shit when it comes to cable but do they have the knowledge and know how to crack the new encryption ? .all's i can say who ever does it would be like printing money for them !!!.

I don't think they will come up with a fix unless they have access to a laboratory with the right equipment and chemicals where they can then strip the card of its layers and acid clean it to get the required info.

Old methods such as glitching the card will no longer work as the cards have anti glitch protection and will go into a loop if glitching attemps are made.

cardsharing and cable wont be very viable you need a paying sub to share a card and unless you are going to chip in with neighbours and friends ect you wont get much


someone will have to pay somewhere along the line it aint going to be a free lunch,there will be people offering virmin services for a fee per month there may be sites like this for instance that offer sharing of virmin cards but you will have to pay somewhere along the line cos there wont be too many people paying full whack for cable to give it away and risk jail for free

just a thought as well with cardsharing you need a broadband or internet connection virmin if they want too know what sites and what info is going through my modem so therefore wouldnt it be quite easy too trace people sharing the virgin cards if this comes about?
