    sky sports problem using digivox-t

i was hoping some one could help me. i bought a digivox-t back in august and loaded the firmware on it back then and tried it at a friends house and worked perfectly. i only got around to installing it in my house recently and i cant get sky sports 1 or sky news to work. it keeps skipping and is unwatchable. most of the rest of the channels are perfect and i'm persuming the aerial is perfect as it was installed profesionally.

do i need to upload new code or has anyone come across this problem before.

    thanks

no all you need to do is a factor reset and rescan it may be water on the cable that can cause it to freeze

channel frequency change happens, delete non working ones and rescan again should pick them back up,its a common problem.

Make sure yuor signal quality is above 80% or you will struggle to get good viewing!

make sure there are no kinks in your coax and your connectors are fastened correctly

i had bad signal on sky sports 2 , was solved by replacing the bit of cable that that had kink in

not saying 100% this is ur problem it just something worth checking and thinking about

i deleted all channels hoping to start from fresh. when i do a scan it only scans to 100% . i read somewhere that it should scan to 200%. is this correct?. i would like to do a factory reset and start from scratch but wont have access to a rs232 cable for another week.
any ideas on why i cant get it to scan to 200%

no channel scan finishes at 100% and box is finished scanning then, dont forget to switch emu on after you scan,if you press set default key and exit out the box will go into update mode anything from 60%-240% and then picture comes on.
cable is only for flashing/updating firmware it wont erase with a factory reset.
always best to factory reset first 0000 to delete, power on converter and scan.

Just to add to cactikid's advise, after doing 'factory setting' on Digivox T, always power off the receiver for 20-30 seconds then restart before doing a automatic scan or it will not scan the full range that its supposed to. Some glitch in the box but trust me on this one.
Also, are you scanning on standard chxus ariel, if using yagi with build in downconverter you will have to manually scan in all chans!
                  Best of luck!

!In reply to you pm mate
On standard chxrus ariel, digivox T will scan the required range automatically. I f signal level/quality is low(<80%), check the downconverter to see if gain plate is fitted, small flat brass coloured plate about 3 x 2 inches, which will increase signal level by approx 3db. make sure you have it mounted at highest available point too ya! If no line of sight to transmitter, you will have to be very sure of direction to mast! 2 sizes of mesh available as well, use the bigger one!
                    Whatever!!

checked the downconverter and there is a gain plate added to it.

is there any other way to boost the signal?

The only other thing i can think of right now, is to make sure there are as little joinings as possible on coaxe cable from downconverter/ariel to psu and from there to digivox t, straight runs if possible!
TBH, sounds as if signal not good enough in your area! Even splitting signal for second box with non CC equipment can cause signal prob.

does anyone know where i can get the frequencies for the channels. i improved my signal and did an automatic scan and noticed it was skipping some of the frequencies. i was going to do a manual scan but dont know where to start.

Factory reset, then make sure to 'OFF' power, before restarting and doing an autoscan or it will not scan the full range required, only scans in bout 60 chans if you do not turn it off between scans!

Should have asked earlier, at friends house where you you tried box first day and all worked fine, was is pointing as the same transmitter/mast/direction, if so, its def a signal problem and no amount of auto scans will bring it in properly for ya! unless you invest in some sort of signal booster!
