    Switching To Satellite Information

    Information

I thought i would but the basic Satellite Information Here, (i'll keep with in the rules so any more information you can PM)

Basically Satellite is run through a dish, (i know state the obviously but hey) And a satellite reciever which is similar to cable, to get the most out of a satellite Reciever your best going for a linux model, there are, of course a few brands on the market the most common of which being Dreambox and more highly common Dreambox Clones.

The first thing you must remember is Satellite is a hobby where as cable was viewed as Free TV.

Now to get the most out of satellite you will need to CardShare (not to be discussed here to use google) Which can be done with either having a card or using a Payserver..

    Right Firstly

    Equipment
    -Dish
    -20M Cable
    -LNB
    -2 F-Connectors
-Internet Connection (Linux Box and CardSharing)
    -Satellite Reciever

*The dish can be any size above 45CM, for just sky a mini dish will be fine, however i would highly reconmend a motorised system as they have more benifits as you can get satellite from all of europe

**For a basic linux Satellite Reciever i would go for the DM500S Around ?64.66 Delivered, or the DM800 (the HD Reciever)for around ?209.99 Delivered..

***If buying a motorised dish look out for a motorised package deal as it will have everything such as F-connectors, Cable, LNB Ect.

    Pro's
    - Most European Satellite Available (motorised dish) = 5000 Channels
    -Most 3PM Football
-Cheap even when using a payserver
    -Low set-up cost
    -Easy to maintain

    Con's
    -Have to maintain
-Takes a while to get your head around

anyway guys i hope this has helped you all out Rememeber to say thanks if it did, and PM me for more information, and also where to get the stuff

Please also remembered that while a 'pay server' can seem an attractive opportunity to those who just want 'free tv', these pay servers are basically charging you to share other peoples cards that they get for free, they are making money from your cards, they will also be the most likely downfall of the whole 'sharing' scene, not to mention the general poor service they provide. By all means look into sharing receivers and equipment, this forum does not really permit any further talk on the subject, but where ever you purchase from please do yourself a favor and do not feed the pay servers!

Mate, there are a fair few decnet paysevers out there, i know some with every main local card, so you can't say there pulling things for free can you? Payservers are the easy option, the best option is get you and 5 mates to chip in for sky and share it.
