two cable boxes

i have two cable boxes i want to use one in the bedroom from the living room i live on the same level if thats any use. what do i need so i can watch cable tv on my tv in living room & bedroom at the same time on different boxes , i have some spare coax cable , do i need a cable splitter ? i have one splitter that im already using the one that the installed when i had my broadband tv package installed ,
if so which one do i need another one im on virgin media , and were would i purchase one from that would be compatiable with cable i would be very grateful if anyone

these cable boxes, are the vm boxes or other boxes?

you will need a splitter, if all you have is one modem and two cable boxes you will need a three way splitter. i am guessing you already no how to set the splitter up for the 3rd box. splitters are available from maplins or ebay. co-ax cable is fine but i would recommend the sky co-ax cable,(not the copperstarnded but silver foil)
