V+ HD box

With the new cards arriving soon & N3 causing the boxes to go down,has anyone yet tried the V+ HD box?I am wanting to get another box to replace a very old,seldom used Pace box that NTL fitted years ago

I had Virgin on the XL pack with the V+ box. It wasn't really worth getting the box, as the only HD channel i got was BBC HD. They have a few extra ones now, but still well short of Sky's choice. The box it's self is pretty basic and updates quite a lot, while this happens the box shuts down and then reboots.

If your getting it free i'd take it but i wouldn't buy it as you wont get sport in HD and no movies or main sky channels on HD

If your going to pay for a subscription box go for Sky + HD they have 30 odd hd channels as opposed to 7 on virmin.

Anybody know which is the better box,Samsung or Scientific Atlantis for V+ HD?

samsung m8 im a virgin engineer and the fail rate on them is 86% less

The SA is complete garbage, its unreliable, gets stuck, large, noisy. Its not that its cheap stuff but it is old stuff, . Its top tech from the early 2000's. . Its like having the best Apple mac from 10 years ago running OSX, its not gonna work.

The samsung however is really fast and nice looking. DONT get an SA.

Can you ask Virgin specifically for a Samsung box for HD with V+ or you need to take what is given.Thanks
